DPC: December 23rd
Dec 23rd

We went on a walk yesterday around my parents condo association. This tunnel goes underneath the highway so the elderly golfers that live in the neighboring condos can drive right from their garages to the Country Club golf course. P loved this tunnel. While M explored the grounds, P ran back and forth in the tunnel. While M made snow castles, P rand back and forth in the tunnel. While M enjoyed the sun, P ran back and forth in the tunnel. P is his Father’s child.
Fallen off the Edge of the World…
Dec 21st
or at least the edge of the world wide web!
I am at my parents for the first leg of the Holiday Triathlon of Travel. We have 2 houses to hit this year but one that we will go to twice (ridiculous- believe me. I know!) It totals to just under 30 snowy, black ice, cartoon watching, scanning for deer, cracker munching, Gatorade drinking hours of driving this year. Did I mention it is all in the span of a week? Why we do this to ourselves and our little boys (not to mention the baby in my belly!) is beyond me. Making my family happy shouldn’t require this much effort.
I always feel like I need a vacation after the holidays are over. I know I am not alone in this, but this year since I did the first leg of the trip sans my husband (he will be catching up with us on the second leg of the journey) I feel like I am alone. I want to vent to my husband. I want him to hold me and tell me “I told you so!” That is how much I miss him right now… I am admitting he is right!
Anyways… Usually we would have internet for the whole duration of the Holidays but the internet was out at my parents. Obviously, it is up and working again. The one good thing about not having internet- all the time to take great photos. I will be posting a serious DPC catch up post tomorrow.
Check back (probably mid afternoon-early evening) for 4 belated pics and 1 pic that is actually on time!

P looks out this window at his truck all day long. He is so sad that he isn’t outside playing with it. Nothing is harder to explain to the sad puppy dog eyes of a 2 year old boy that 5 degrees is very cold, too cold for little boys. All P wants for Christmas is warm enough weather to play outside in the snow. Santa did you hear that? We want temps in the DOUBLE DIGITS!!!

we never did finish fall clean up before the snow came… we even have a couple bags of leaves that didn’t get dropped off at the compost site. That is going to suck come spring!
DPC: Burn Out
Dec 16th
Come on Challengers…. we are over half way there! Don’t give up now.
I know it is tough, even I have been feeling the burn out. I almost asked the Schwan Man last night if he would pose for me for lack of a better idea! Although, he probably deserves to be featured on the blog. If it wasn’t for him my boys would be eating pb&j for every meal. I just can’t stand to be in the kitchen right now. Everything stinks. I swear I can smell the slightest bit of green fuzz that is growing on the hotdish in the back of the fridge that is sealed in an air tight tuperware container. I have super smelling pregnancy nose right now. I don’t even want to bake cookies, which is another missed photo op.
I am feeling the burn out in all areas. I am a scrooge this year. I just want it all to be done so I can get rid of all the presents that are piling up, stop putting on all my winter gear just to step out side and plug in the Christmas lights and most of all stop fretting over the last of my shopping list… my FIL is the hardest person to shop for!
Maybe I just need to take a picture of me in my sweats I have been wearing for 3 days straight, my greasy hair and my messy house and label the photo Burn Out, because that is really all I am inspired to do.
I am turning the tables. I inspried all you DPCers to post pics and to beef up your blogroll. Now I am asking you to return the favor. I need some inspiration. In the comments of this post leave a link to your favorite pic you have posted thus far, or even to your latest shot that you are proud of. Seeing your pics always inspires me and this will be a great way to share some linkage with other DPCers besides your home page or photostream.
So pick a pic and comment. If you have more than one fav, leave more than one link!

We bought this wreath from the cutest little boy scouts that live down the street. Only $14! Last year I bought a fake one for about 10 bucks, it doesn’t hold a candle to this one. I love opening the door and seeing and smelling this wreath. Best fourteen bucks spent this Holiday season.

Somehow all 12 inches of snow missed a huge patch of our front yard but managed to swirl its way onto our front step.

We have had almost double what this weather man clown permitted. That is a shit ton of snow. Check out tomorrow’s DPC photo to see some of what the blizzard left behind.
